I am writing to express my concern about the violence and discrimination experienced by Venezuelan LGBTIQ+ people in your country.
I have read testimonies from people who declare that, because of their gender identity, sexual orientation and nationality, they are victims of discrimination, xenophobia and different types of violence, resulting in a constant denial of their rights.
Your government has already taken steps to receive these refugees but needs to ensure that inclusion programmes for Venezuelans include a gender perspective and address the particular difficulties and risks faced by the LGBTQI+ people. In addition, it is essential that information about these programmes reaches refugees and the companies, organisations and institutions that require them for their implementation, so that true coordination between institutions can lead to the integration of Venezuelan people.
Regards,
