I call on you to initiate a prompt, thorough, transparent and impartial investigation

into the killing of Thulani Maseko and to ensure that anyone suspected to be

responsible is brought to justice in a fair trial. You must also ensure that Thulani’s

family is provided with access to justice and effective remedies.

Thulani Maseko was a loving father and husband who dedicated his life to the people

of Eswatini. He was openly critical of the country’s repressive laws and excessive state

violence used to silence peaceful protest. He was killed in his home, in front of his

wife, for speaking out.
